The Bruins should trade Thomas to the Western Conference if possible. I would hate to see him in the playoffs next year. There are plenty of teams in the west that need goaltending help. For example teams like Colorado, Anaheim, Chicago might trade for Thomas as they have a need at the goalie position. Maybe Bruins can get something of value (like a prospect or draft pick) in return for Thomas. Then use the trade piece they got from Thomas and with their remaining draft picks (other than 2nd pick in this years draft) and trade for a puck moving defensemen to replace Wideman on the second defensemen unit.

Trading Thomas to a Western Conference team would be ideal but I really do not think it matters. To me, they simply need to move Thomas and his contract and it does not matter where. San Jose may be a possible destination.
