Chiarelli missed the ball if he is trading with the Flames for a defensemen. The guy the bruins should have gone after from Calgary on defense is clearly Dion Phaneuf nad he is already in Toronto. Regehr is not worth Savard straight up, Bruins should look for a younger option even if it means packaging something with Savard like Boston’s First Rounder in 2011 or Tim Thomas in the deal. I like Regehr but they should look for a younger player that plays that style from somewhere else.

The Maple Leafs basically (other minor parts in the deal) only gave up Stajan and Hagman for Phaneuf. That is a joke considering Phaneuf was born in 85 and has his best years ahead of him for sure. Bruins should of traded for Phaneuf with Savard and a second round draft pick. The Flames would have taken that deal over Hagman and Stajan im pretty sure.

The Flames have made some not so good deals but the Phaneuf deal wasn’t one of them. They were lucky to get a bag of pucks for him.
