Horton squirts fan, throws water bottle 05.26.11 at 4:02 pm ET
By DJ Bean

The internet is going crazy over this video, which features Nathan Horton squirting and then throwing a water battle at a fan, who threw what appeared to be one of the clapping devices given away at St. Pete Times Forum at David Krejci after Game 6.

As has been documented many a time, Horton is one of the friendliest people you’ll meet, but when people go after Krejci or Milan Lucic, he loses his mind.

Real Classy Tampa Bay. You proved to be a moronic and stupid fan base that needs props to make any noise at your home games. The Rays have their stupid cow bells and now the lightning have these stupid clapping things, what is this a soccer fan base that got confused and started trying to watch real sports?

This video is why there should be a tunnel separating the visiting team from the fans when they enter or leave the ice.

The only reason Tampa has to give out noise makers is that their fans are such pink hats they could not possibly muster enough noise without those stupid things. Not a real hockey city, not a real hockey fan base.

Good for Horton, only he should have taken the lid off the water bottle first.

But is was o.k. when Bruin fans threw stuff at the Lightning players after game 1? Right? Throwing things on the ice (or field for that matter) is uncalled for no matter who you are, but call a spade a spade. I was there. It was LOUD. You can try to insult us about a REAL hockey fanbase but put your unfounded arrogance aside and face the FACT that we have OUTDRAWN YOU THE PAST FIVE YEARS STRAIGHT. And yes we are a REAL hockey city (Stanley Cup in 2004). The last time your beloved B’s won the Cup Nixon was just re-elected, Vietnam was still going on, and gas was 70 cents a gallon. And it appears the Bruins are the “Pink Hats” getting outshot and outplayed last nite. How’s Thomas feeling about his “guarantee” now? The Bolts have hung 5 goals on him in all but 2 games. Hardly solid. Enjoy game 7. Both teams want it baaaaaad and were all lucky to get to watch.

Pink Hats means bandwagon fans, guy, has nothing to do with the team on the ice. Pink hats is a term in Boston for all the bandwagon Sox fans that started showing up when we won the Series in 04. Before that, everyone was negative, and if you were at the game, you cared about and followed the team, year round. There are a few Bruins fans coming out of the woodwork now, but to be honest, we’d still fill the Garden without them, as we did all year. Don’t know if you guys were doing it all year…but in all honesty, I’d be rooting for the Lighning if it wasn’t the Bruins they were playing against. Your boys sure can score some goals. Game 7 has me nervous…I’m glad it’s in Boston.

The lightning are a fucking joke…bruins will win game 7 and then u can suck our fucking dicks u fucking faggot…the bruins are a orginial 6 team one of the best franchises in nhl history the lightning don’t even come close to that and never will…lightning fans are the worst fans in the nhl cause ur non exisistent just like for the rays and the heat.

Ok fist off I was at Game 1 and there were towels thrown not objects give me a break…..what Horton did was right he was pissed and protecting his team mates whom you can plainly see was hit in the head with the object. It was a disgusting display but the lightening fans they deserved everything they got!!

Sorry Lightning fan. Winning a stanley cup does not make your city a hockey town. If Phoenix Arizona won the stanley cup would Phoenix be a hockey town? No. Bruins still have more Stanley cups than Tampa, even though we have never won in my lifetime.

Boston is a hockey city because a large percentage of Bruins fans have grown up playing ice hockey. Bruins fans are far more intelligent hockey fans than Tampa. Boston is considered the HUB OF HOCKEY because we have some of the best college hockey teams in the country, also we have some of the best Prep School high school hockey teams in the country. Far more NHL level talent, and Division I players have come out of New England, especially when compared to the entire state of Florida. Practically every town in MA has a hockey rink, other than the NHL teams, I have not seen one rink in Florida or one decent player from the state of florida.

So I’m sorry but Tampa is not a hockey city, and your fan base is a bunch of pink hat morons who only care about Tampa because they have had some success. If Tampa goes about forty years without a stanley cup your team would be drawing far less people than this Bruins team. Like you said Tampa won in 2004 and still roughly 6,000 tampa fans sold their seats to Bruins fans for Game 6. Did you not notice all the Bruins fans at your own rink?

Keep your dumb cowbells, your stupid clapping things and your ignorance on this matter to yourselves. Tampa will never be on the level of the Boston in terms of hockey fans. That fan got what he deserved, good for Horton for doing so.

i remember going to camden yards for orioles/red sox game and there were a 6 pack of obnoxious bostonians talking crap. so the 4 of us tampa visitors asked them politely to shut the F up. and to my surprise they did. not because they were cool, but it was because they were pu$$y cowards much like the rest of Boston!
