No suspension for Vancouver’s Alex Burrows in biting incident 06.02.11 at 2:57 pm ET
By WEEI

The NHL has decided not to suspend Vancouver forward Alex Burrows after he apparently bit Boston’s Patrice Bergeron in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals.

“After reviewing the incident, including speaking with the on-ice officials, I can find no conclusive evidence that Alex Burrows intentionally bit the finger of Patrice Bergeron,” said NHL vice president Mike Murphy.

Burrows has denied biting Bergeron, to which the Bruins’ forward said, “Oh yeah, he did. He cut me a little bit on my finger, but I’m not going to complain about it. I’ll let the league do their job, but he sure did [bite me].”

Bottom Line Bruins are way over matched
Bruins play the best that they are capable of and lost
Vancover best is yet to come
Its a joke watching the Bruins on the power play
Boston could nor score even if the net was empty and it 5 on 1
Bruins are lucky to be here

The NHL has clearly turned a blind eye on this one. I’d expect something a bit more subtle than “I can find no conclusive evidence that Alex Burrows intentionally bit the finger of Patrice Bergeron”. Given Burrows’ track record, I imagine some day he’ll realize just how untitled his career has become.

UN-EFFIN-BELIEVABLE! I don’t know what else to say.

    @Mike

Game finished 1-0. Not really seeing how they are “way over-matched”

I think you forget the only time they played each other this season it was in Vancouver Bruins won 3-1.

Hey Mike you’re an idiot! Over matched??? What game did you watch??? The very fact that the Bruins have advanced as far as they have without a good PP speaks of the quality of this team. You obviously know little about hockey.
Secondly, when a team will support a gutless puke like Burrows and condone what he did… that says a whole lot about the quality of an organization.

This ruling does not come as a surprise. Even though the NHL has clearly set precedent on this issue by suspending everyone else who has done the same thing, they fooled us all again. However, this biting thing is getting way overblown and I thought they would probably let it pass because its the FINALS, but it is fun to talk about.

I am pretty sure that Mike Murphy or Colin Campbell decide their rulings by rolling dice. They assign different suspension lengths to the numbers and then they roll the dice. Then once they have the suspension length they make up some lie about how they actually watched the “incident”.

If anyone else can explain their rulings better let me know. Just keep in mind they have handed out 5 game suspension for saying sloppy seconds, a no game suspension for matt Cooke’s hit on Savard, then the next year a 10+ game suspension for Matt Cooke on a less devastating hit, then Ruutu bit someone got two games, now Burrows bit Bergeron and no games. If that is not a totally random system of punishment than I do not know what is.
