  • Rest of Series

Horton’s probably out the rest of the series, Rome should be too

  • Gray

This shouldnt have to be a question. suspended for the series.

Dirty, Vile, Late head shot that needs to be removed from the great sport of hockey! The NHL has a opportunity to send a clear message to it’s players on it’s largest stage! If Hortons lucky he won’t end up with lingering symptoms like Savy. This Dirty, head targeting very very late hit could end Hortons career. Rome should be suspended for 20 games, maybe longer. Make an example of this scum bag Murph!

  • NHL Fan

If any of these sports want to stop the hits. They have to make the call for ejection and suspension right there on the spot. Not three days of letting the media chalk it up. Make the call toss the player, these thugs need to understand the danger of these hits. This is no small problem Horton, Crosby, Bergeron, Savard are all top flight talent not fighter looking for a scrum. It should be easy you violate rule whatever # in whatever sport (NHL, NBA, NFL) your out. They get it right in Soccer, you screwed up here’s your red card see you later, bye…

What a punk move! Guy needs to sit out the rest of this series, should sit out the entire 2011-2012 season as well. C’mon, the Canucks have a lot of talent, they don’t have to resort to this scumbag crap- first, Burrows goes Jeffrey Dahmer and bites Bergeron’s finger, and DOES NOT EVEN GET SUSPENDED ONE GAME, now Rome blindsides Horton? Boy, the ‘Nucks, they’re really showing their true colors here.

The Bruins need to make it very clear to NHL officials; if the NHL officials don’t take care of business the Bruins will take care of business themselves. What a disgrace NHL officials are. As for Rome he should be suspended without pay for as long a Horton is out!

  • Roger

The NHL blew the Burrows call and it created a circus in game 3. They shouldn’t make the same mistake again

  • Steve

You know this is crap. like N.H.L. said this scumbag is a true wimp. He should be suspended for the rest of the season and maybe 5 games next year. these guys have to learn this stuff is no joke, these types of hits could ruin someone for life. Look at these guys that get into a fight and one guy punches another they guys hits the ground and he’s DEAD!! and the other guy is charged with manslaughter of murder. When someone hits the ice and there arms stay up that means you have stopped the brain for those few seconds NOT GOOD thank god he came out of it. some people don’t and end up in a head trauma unit for life. N.H.L. DO SOMETHING RIGHT THIS TIME. YOU ALREADY SCREWED UP ONCE IN THIS SERIES.

How many games did Chara miss when trying to kill Pacioretti ?

  • BooHooToo

Yeah, I gotta say…late, high hit, 5-minute major and game misconduct resulting in the end of an opponent’s season. At least Rome kept the elbow down and wasn’t driving a guy’s head into a stantion unlike Zdeno Chara’s hit on Max Pacioretty (link to photo):

Give Rome what Chara got…no supplementary discipline.

We’re talking about something that has escalated because of inaction from league. THESE ARE THE SHOWCASE GAMES OF PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY. No wonder this league gets looney tunes attitude. The seriousness of this penalty is laid out in your rulebook. To do nothing would be like saying steroids is ok in baseball. The Championship of any sport should not come on the shoulders of unprofessionalism of a few.

http://scotthoughts1.blogspot.com/2011/06/bruins-embarrass-canucks-8-1-lose.html Bruins embarrass Canucks, Canucks embarrass themselves

The ineptitude of the top brass at the NHL has created a situation it has lost control of regardless of any steps it takes now. The interesting thing is that it was a top player that was targeted by Rome. Horton was viewed as an obstacle to Vancouver’s success in my view. Any suggestion that Rome couldn’t stop himself is naive regardless of who you favor in the series. The game has been tainted. Part of the risk you take playing hockey is injury. However, there is no way to protect yourself from an adversary who has no regard for the rules.

We lose a 1st line RW due to a dirty hit, they should lose their 1st line RW. Eye for an eye. That’ll make someone think before coming in late from the blindside. Who cares if they lose Rome? He’s garbage. Now we’re out a top 3 forward…fair isnt fair here.

Bruin fans are saying if Horton is out for the rest of the season
so should Rome. That is why Chara should have got 35 games for the Max Paturetty hit. Max missed the last 25 games and had a broken neck.Chara’s hit was 5 times as bad . And he gets nothing. What a disgrace.Lucic’s punch to the head was after he also gave 2 hander. In that case he deserves at least 4 games. If Bruins got the penalties they deserve they wouldn’t have enough players left to field a team.
