Lost a little respect for Thomas on this.

Well everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and all. But this was not a political event. It was the President of our country honoring our championship team. For my part…I would have put politics aside and joined my team and the president of our country. He is still Thomas’s president and he deserves respect.

I’m seriously disappointed in Thomas.  Sure I wanted to kick W’s teeth in at times but I’d still shake his hand and get my picture taken with him. Can’t you put the politics away for one hour?

Anyone who watches Glenn Beck seriously has an I.Q. no higher than 90.   It’s about as legit as watching pro wrestling and getting upset.  Tim Thomas is a great goalie, but I guarantee he’d be digging ditches if he didn’t play hockey.  He will not be paid for his thinking after hockey.  That much I guarantee.

Lost a lot of respect for Chiarelli. Suspend Thomas and fine him, the same as any other player who elects to skip practice or team meeting or any other mandatory team function. When Thomas puts on that uniform, he represents the team, and if he can’t perform his duties as a team player, let him pay the consequences. And if you think this won’t hurt him in the locker room, think again. Every Bruins player who went knows he shirked his duty and got away with it. He’s a rat.

Just because you exercise your right to free speech, doesn’t make you admirable.  In fact, as some have demonstrated of late, it can make you appear quite stupid.  I guess for Thomas, there’s no “T” in team…  bad move, keep politics and religion out of sports.  If you’re such a hotshot and you’ve figured it all out, then run for office.  Otherwise, gear up, stop pucks and celebrate the invitation to the White House with the rest of your team.

Thank goodness the rest of the Bruins had enough common sense to avoid furthering the notion that all hockey players are stupid.  No comment on the politics, may even think similarly, but not showing up, reflects a disrespect for the country, its veterans, and the office held by a democratic vote that would be considered acceptable only in places like Russia or Saudi Arabia.  Thomas is a joke now.

I didn’t know about Epstein, but even as someone who strongly disagreed with almost everything G W Bush did, I would have gone. An invitation to the White House is an honor, regardless of who the occupant is.
