Ryan Miller denies heated exchange with Jeremy Jacobs 12.07.12 at 4:01 pm ET
By DJ Bean

On Friday, Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller denied calling out Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs during this week’s collective bargaining agreement negotiations. It had been reported that Miller and Jacobs had gotten in a heated exchange on Wednesday, but Miller said he was simply asking the owners to not pull what they had discussed off the table.

Miller texted the following to The Buffalo News Friday:

“The owners wanted to leave the room and pull everything we spent a full day on. I asked them to stay and continue pushing through. I may have been passionate but there was no disrespect or calling out one owner by name. I have a lot of respect for any owner because they are a big part of hockey.

“I wanted more than anything to make a deal but we are not professional negotiators. We as players didn’t have the experience or authority to make a final deal. We were trying to responsibly move this process forward as best we could. If anyone thinks that we did wrong by the game or by the fans then they are misinformed. We have a responsibility to about 750 players and we made moves approved by them and thinking about them.”

I wish he did call Jacobs out.  The Cup has made many of us forget the long years we have endured this family’s grip on one of the best franchises in sports.

Miller better realize,,,,, Jeremy Jacobs didn’t get where he is by lying down for punks like the ones in the NHLPA.

Just get back on the ice, please! So tired of Jacobs, Bettman, Fehr. It comes to this, the owners own the game and though some of them (stand up Jeremy Jacobs) are not passionate about the game, unfortunately when the day is done – they pay for the dance, they call the tune.

Punks?   You are the punk for calling them that.

All they were doing is negotiating the financial parameter of their earnings.  It is a business transaction.  It is no different from what Jacobs is doing!

Such a bs response. JJ held this franchise down for years. Yes he is a business man but he is not good for the bruins or hockey. Compared to someone like the Kraft family he is an embarrassment.

Jacobs has ruined the Bruins for years, many star players have gone through the door while he pads his pocket by putting together a product based on his own personal greed. It was a shame players like Bourque,MIddleton,Neely were stuck with an owner who only got away with putting just enough on the ice so the Bruins were in the middle of the pack. Given his reputation he should not even be in the room negotiating
