Shawn Thornton a healthy scratch vs. Lightning 03.02.13 at 1:18 pm ET
By DJ Bean

Bruins forward Shawn Thornton was a healthy scratch Saturday against the Lightning, with Jay Pandolfo playing in his place on Gregory Campbell‘s line.

Though Thornton missed two games in February due to a concussion, Saturday marks the first time this season he’s been a healthy scratch. Pandolfo is playing in his second game of the season.

Offense, at times, has been an issue with this team and it seems Claude is seeing what Pandolfo can give. Would have rather seen Bourque sit but that’s me. Still missing another proven goal scorer especially with Seguin’s slow start.

And if the first period is any indication, they could use his toughness

Yeah, just saw Tampa brought up a goon for this game. But the way it’s going the Bruins need more offense. Refs need some glasses as well.

Keep his knuckles fresh for the Canadiens tomorrow night.

The guy gets pounded in one fight and he’s done? Like your namesake, I think you took one too many shots to the head.

  • Djfetherston

Moron. He tried to start a fight a few games ago but the other player backed down because his team was up by two goals and he didn’t want the Bruins to get fired up. Watch a game once in awhile.
