He did this in Vancouver, he does it all the time against Montreal. This man has a very bad attitude - him calling others a disgrace to the game is hypocrisy to colossal proportions.

Agreed 100%, the Canadiens have been diving since the rules were tightened up a few years back. Bruins took some stupid penalties no question but enough with the embellishing.

I think what happened to Claude Julien is what has happened  to many hockey  people and fans  as soon as they have  anything to do with the bruins  they become the biggest hypocrites in the sport world .

It’s not generally my nature to post on comments sections, but I would just like to say from a logical perspective that there is absolutely to merit to the diving accusations tonight. This followed by Bruins fans showing a compilation of plays dating all the way back to 2004, almost a decade. I mean common. Not saying there isn’t some whining on the Bruins part, and let’s face it, every coach on every team needs to explain afterwards why their team lost( Claude also points out that 3/4 of his lines weren’t producing being a major problem too just fyi). If Montreal had lost, we all know that Canadiens fans would be whining and their coach making excuses, and Boston fans would be say stop whining you lost. 
That said, Claude’s point is still valid. A team that leads the league in power plays is more than likely embellishing hits more often than other teams. You could argue the Bruins(along with every other team) do it too, but yet compared to the Canadiens, the Bruins have nearly 40 fewer power plays, so the Bruins are doing it far less often.   

Classic delusional Bruins. I’m not saying Montreal doesn’t embellish, but Claude Julien needs to look at his own team before going on a rant like that. 

Marchand is probably the biggest diver in the league. There’s even footage of him where you can clearly read his lips where he dives and then tells his trainer, “I was trying to draw a 5 minute major.” 

Seguin isn’t far behind him as well. A perfectly example being that little nudge that Emelin gave him tonight. That was hardly a cross check and an enormous embellishment. Also, there was no need for Chara to go crazy like that over a nudge to the shoulder. 

Bottom line is that the Bruins are a bunch of hypocrites. They have some tough players, but there are just as guilty, if not more guilty, than most NHL teams in the diving/embellishment department.

Well, I have to agree with Claude on this one.  The Habs could play a much more of a classier game and still win.  But they Dive and fake stuff all night.  Much of that falls on the league by not punishing them when they do it.  The rest is on the coach for using that style of play. It’s up to the Bruins to use better discipline in these situations.  Having Chara and Lucic (2 star players on this teams) do all the heavywork  – and getting extra penalties for how they went about it was what cost them the game.  Reminds me of that Vancouver game last season in Boston.  The reffing was a little one sided, but you can’t rely on that every night to go your way.

Look, both teams were guilty of stuff yesterday.  Plain and simple.  Refs let a few things slide that they probably shouldn’t have.  The Bruins lost the game because they let their emotions get the best of them.  Both teams have passionate fans.  Some crazier than others.  Sure, we’re pissed that the Habs won.  But we also know that we will meet again.  I can’t wait. Meanwhile, quit the name-calling and the taunting.  It was 1 regular season win. Nothing more. Save it for the playoffs. Besides, this is a BOSTON forum for BOSTON fans to sound off after a tough loss. Not for Montreal fans to taunt B’s fans. If you disagree with what we say on here, then leave. Take the high road.

I like the sentiment but the trolls cannot go unchecked. I am of the opinion that Chara should have waited to make his point…it would have been just as effective rather than immediately…but Subban is a disgrace. Look, I agree with what has been said about the Canadiens. They played a good game last night and won. Good for them and as a fan of hockey (and the Bruins) they played well. It is nice to see them have a strong team this year….it is better for hockey and for this rivalry.

Now, what I, as a Bruin fan, take exception to is some of the deluded commentary that has entered this board by people claiming to be Canadiens fans. Hmmmm. I know several Canadiens fans and they tend to be a bit more intelligent, open-minded, and savvy about the game than many who have posted here today.

Here are some facts – not opinions – that should be shared:

First, to claim that there Subban doesn’t flop is simply ridiculous. It is as silly as saying the Varajeo, Ginobli, and Scola don’t flop in the NBA. They do and the NBA did something about it, which – I agree with posters here  – the NHL has to deal with.

Second, both teams play a tough type of hockey. But to claim that the Canadiens don’t stretch the bounds of what is fair and legal is a bit silly. There have been a couple of cheap shots leveled by the Habs against the Bruins. We saw a couple last night and when the Bruins retaliate, several players turtle….ala Ulf Samuelson back in the day. The NHL doesn’t need that. And, yes, Marchand stretches the boundaries as well. We know that. Sure, Marchand may be well-liked by Bruins fans, but not everyone here appreciates all of his antics. Many a Bruins fan, though loving his game, has noted that he can also rile up opponents sufficiently to cause problems for his fellow teammates who have to face repercussions.

Third, it is okay to call out Bruins fans, but let’s not be hypocritical. Most Bruins fans are not, by nature, classless.  Bruins fans didn’t dial the police hoping to get Chara arrested. Bruins fans did not take a petition out hoping to get Chara in trouble. A Bruin radio station announcer didn’t allegedly call a Boston hospital asking how to make a 60 year old baby quiet. Please…the last people that Canadiens fans should call classless are Bruins fans who had to put up with this type of useless nonsense.

Sure, it was a tough game. The Canadiens won. However, who won the prior five games in the series. Who matches up better. And who – when they are on their game – plays a better game. Clearly the Bruins.
