The Bruins chose Czech right wing David Pastrnak with their first-round pick (25th overall) Friday night in Philadelphia.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Pastrnak has spent the last two seasons playing for Sodertalje in Sweden. A right shot, the 18-year-old was ranked the fifth-best European skater in the draft by NHL Central Scouting.

Pastrnak is Boston’s first first-round pick since 2012 (Malcolm Subban) and the team’s first pick since Keith Gretzky took over as the director or amateur scouting last August.

The Bruins will pick Saturday in the second round (56th overall), fourth round, fifth round and seventh round. Their third-round pick was traded to the Flyers at the trade deadline last season for Andrej Meszaros, while their sixth-round pick was traded to the Blues during the lockout-shortened 2013 season for Wade Redden.
